El nou robot de quatre potes que Josh Bongard, Victor Zykov, and Hod Lipson han creat pot confeccionar automàticament un model en base a prediccions de la seva pròpia topologia (on i com les parts del seu cos estan conectades), per posteriorment, moure's pel seu entorn. A més, pot utilitzar aquesta tècnica per determinar si un component està danyat per tal que adapti el model als danys introduits en el sistema.
